US-only Nintendo DS gem Monster Tale is getting a new lease of life this spring, in a Nintendo 3DS revamp called Monster Tale Ultimate.
Developer DreamRift spoke recently about how it has gone back and touched up “every single aspect of the adventure”.
It will be the same innovative little game that had two types of game being played across the console’s two screens.
On the top screen you play a platformer to find food for your monster pal Chomp, who lives in a Tamagotchi-style pet sim on the touchscreen. Then, you can unleash an upgraded Chomp on unsuspecting enemies up top.
But now, there will be new visuals, an optional orchestral score, stereoscopic 3D, rebalanced gameplay, new areas, and shortcuts to cut out backtracking.
Expect Monster Tale Ultimate on the eShop in the Spring. DreamRift isn’t ruling out the possibility of a retail release.
