A few more thousands electric scooters will hit the street San Francisco today, as three companies now have permits to sell their rides in the city by the bay.

People who are not fans of of eScoots, did get city hall to cut the maximum number of scooters which each permit holder may put out to rent in the city. At first the firm were going to be able to put out a combined 10,000 scooters, after the change the number dropped to 4,000, with only 2,500 of those being able to hit the streets today .

In September, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) announced three new companies— Lime, Spin, and Jump— won permits to rent on the city streets.

Scoot is the the only incumbent operator “in good standing” with City Hall from the pilot; rival Skip, failed to get its permits renewed for this round.
