Motion Computing has introduced two new Windows-powered rugged tablets this week with the C5t and F5t. Either weighs about 3lbs and sports a 10.4-inch touchscreen display with 1024×768 resolution. The C5t is meant for work indoors, as only the F5t has an optional View Anywhere display for viewing in direct sunlight.
The portable PCs aren’t low cost units, with prices starting at $2,236. Three year warranties are included in the price tags, however.
Those displays can read both touch and stylus inputs and are protected by Gorilla Glass. The batteries are hot-swappable. Both meet IP54 and MIL-STD-810G standards for resistance to shock, temperature extremes, and more thanks to their magnesium alloy internal frames and Elastomer overmolding.
They otherwise get similar options, including Ivy Bridge Core i3, Core i5, or Core i7 vPro CPUs of unlisted clock speeds, 2GB of RAM standard with 4GB optional and either 64GB or 128GB SSDs.
