Native Instruments has started shipping the Traktor Kontrol Z1, a combined mixer and audio interface intended for use with the company’s iOS and desktop Traktor apps. Using the Z1 adds a headphone cue, dedicated faders, filter and effects controls, a 24-bit soundcard, and a three-band equalizer for each of the unit’s two channels. The audio interface boosts output levels, which may be especially important for iOS-based setups.
The Z1 comes with a copy of Traktor LE 2 for Windows and Mac; Traktor Pro 2 and the Traktor DJ iOS app are separate purchases. NI warns that using the Z1 with a Lightning-equipped device requires that person have their own adapter.
The mixer costs $199, but comes with a $50 voucher.
