Hasbro has announced it is set to partner with Netflix on turning the classic toy Stretch Armstrong into an animated children’s series titled “Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters”.
In the series, high school student Jake Armstrong and his two best friends Nathan Park and Ricardo Perez are exposed to an experimental chemical which transforms them into unlikely heroes.
Scott Menville, Steven Yeun, Ogie Banks, Wil Wheaton, Felicia Day, Keith David, Kate Mulgrew and Walter Koenig have been confirmed as cast members. Victor Cook (“Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated”) along with “Ultimate Spider-Man” duo Kevin Burke and Chris ‘Doc’ Wyatt will executive produce.
Originally introduced in 1976, the well-muscled doll could stretch from its original size of fifteen inches to four or five feet. Twenty-six episodes of the series have been ordered with the first to arrive on the streaming service later this year.
