Following the decent success of Xenoverse in Japan, Bandai Namco has announced a new Dragon Ball game for the 3DS. Entitled Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden, it will be a classic 2D beat-em-up. What’s more it will apparently be developed by Arc System Works.
For those not up to speed on their beat-em-up developers, then Arc System Works is one of the big ones. Responsible for the ongoing Guilty Gear games, with their last version receiving a console port last year, they have also done all manner of tie-in beat-em-ups too. Their signature style being beautifully animated characters with over the top moves. They also really understand how to make their games look like an anime in motion.
We also know that the game will have over 100 playable characters and potentially feature team based matches. There will also be support characters available too. No word on a release date, except sometime this summer, but this should do well with such an experienced developer at the helm.
