Cisco has launched the Flip Slide HD as its first major pocket camera upgrade since taking over Flip. The new design allows a greater emphasis on watching over capturing; the feature is reinforced by the new addition of a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The camera still records at 720p without optical zoom or image stabilization. Storage has been doubled versus the Flip Ultra HD to 16GB of room, or about four hours of 720P raw video. A compression tool can pack this down to 12 hours. HDMI comes via an optional adapter.
Cisco is already shipping the Mac- and Windows-ready camcorder. The Amazon price is $279.99.
