The Riverdale Season 2 premiere scored new series highs across the board on Wednesday night, according to Nielsen data.
Airing at 8 p.m., Riverdale averaged a 0.8 rating in adults 18-49 and 2.3 million viewers, making it the highest-rated and most-watched episode of the series to date. In addition, the premiere was up just under 60 percent in the key demo and over 60 percent in total viewers compared to the Season 1 premiere (0.5, 1.4 million). Even more impressive, the Season 2 premiere doubled the demo rating and more than doubled the total viewers of the Season 1 finale (0.4, 0.96 million).
Immediately after Riverdale, the series premiere of the reboot of Dynasty drew a 0.4 and 1.3 million viewers, putting it above the premiere of fellow freshman CW series Valor (0.3, 1.2 million) earlier this week.
