New details for the PlayStation 4’s next firmware patch have leaked ahead of time. Less than a week after it was revealed that the long-awaited Suspend/Resume option would be included with the update, new images posted online say the 2.50 firmware update will introduce more accessibility options, a new data backup feature, and more.
The news comes by way of Twitter user isaparrot, who says they are friends with someone in the firmware beta testing group.
According to this person, the new accessibility features include a text-to-speech option, as well as larger text, bold text, zoom, high contrast, and more. Check out the embedded image to see all of the new accessibility features.
PS4 2.50 will also introduce new data backup functionality, according to the insider, who also revealed more about how the Suspend/Resume feature will work.
“Suspend/Resume while watching Netflix. The PS4 will pick up where your watching and not just reboot the entire app. It’s really in memory,” isaparrot wrote.
“The next PS4 system software update will be released soon, and its features are currently being processed for quality assurance,” per a Sony representative. “We will have more information on the update to share shortly.”
