Now that Netflix customers are well into recovering from their “House of Cards” binges, the service will release it’s latest helping of original entertainment on April 19th when all 13 episodes of Eli Roth’s “Hemlock Grove” will become available for online viewing. With “Cabin Fever” and “Hostel” filmmaker Roth at the helm of this adaptation of Brian McGreevy’s novel of the same name, it would be a safe assumption that the series would have its share of blood and gore, and Netflix debuted the following clip at WonderCon this past weekend to confirm these suspicions.
The clip features an incredibly drawn out and complicated werewolf transformation in front of two stunned onlookers, and ends with a fittingly disgusting punch line once the transformation is complete. While the visual effects aren’t exactly on par with a feature film, the clip does go to show how far Roth, Netflix, and company are willing to push the boundaries on the series, and also establishes the tone.
