Barack and Michelle Obama have reportedly acquired Moneyball author Michael Lewis’ new book The Fifth Risk with plans to turn it into a series under their Netflix production deal. The Obamas are said to be exploring projects, but nothing specifically has received a greenlight as yet.
The book follows the chaos and mismanagement that ensued in the departments of Energy, Agriculture and Commerce in the handoff from President Barack Obama to President Donald Trump. Lewis spoke with numerous federal workers in said departments.
The previous administration created briefing books for the next staff, but those who turned up on behalf of the new administration were greatly unqualified and far and few between.
Netflix recently picked up Lewis’ Wall Street reformation book Flash Boys with plans to turn into a film which Ben Jacoby is adapting.
