Overload, the shooter from the folks who made Descent, was successfully Kickstarted in March 2016 and hit Steam Early Access in March 2017.
Today, developer Revival Productions, staffed with devs from Parallax Software who worked there in 1995*, announced it will officially release on Steam and GOG May 31, and that it will launch with the multiplayer which was originally going to be added on later.
The full game packs a 15-level campaign along with 12 challenge levels, Revival says there are 20 different enemy robots and three boss fights between them. ou can equip your spaceship with 16 different weapons as you make your way thru the game.
There is a free Overload Steam demo. Plus right now the game is only $25. The price will be $35 once it leaves Early Access.
*When I was working on Windows 95. (Yes, I am old.) We would take breaks playing Descent in building 5 on main campus. Don’t Tell Brad Silverberg. LOL
