Panasonic has started shipping the AG-AF100 camcorder. The new camcorder based on the Micro Four Thirds system. The camera is aimed at the professional market with a $4,995 price tag.
Users can take advantage of 1080P24 recording in AVCHD format, which can be stored on dual SD cards or output as an uncompressed, 8-bit signal via HD-SDI cables. Other 1080 recording options include 60i, 50i, 30p, and 25p, along with 720 at several different frame rates such as 60P and 30P. The system supports the same lenses, filters, and other accessories that can be attached to standard MFT camera.
Audio capabilities included Dolby AC3 recording and external microphone attachment via XLR. Users can also attach condenser mics or other equipment requiring 48V phantom power.
