Paramount Pictures has officially announced plans to do a sequel to this year’s critical and box-office horror sensation A Quiet Place.
Opening three weeks ago, John Krasinski stars in and directs the film which has given the troubled studio a needed shot in the arm – taking in over $213 million worldwide this month from a $17 million dollar budget.
The story follows a family of four must navigate their lives in silence after mysterious creatures that hunt by sound has killed off much of the world and threaten their survival.
Studio chairman-CEO Jim Gianopulos says:
“We’re already working with these guys on a sequel. If you told me five years ago that an almost silent film starring the very funny guy Jim from ‘The Office’ would have been a hit at Paramount, I would have said, ‘Well, I should go work at Paramount’.”
