Bethesda has said it aims to release a new patch next week for Brink to tackle ongoing lag issues that have plagued the game since launch.
The Xbox update is churning through Microsoft’s approval process and is expected to go live “next week”. “We’ve been hard at work investigating the lag issues some players of the Xbox 360 version of Brink have reported. We’ve now completed modifications to improve network performance and will be rolling these out in a title update for the game,” said Bethesda.
Meanwhile, a PC update – also set to arrive next week – will additionally tackle sound and graphics issues and make server browser improvements.
The developer says the PS3 version’s update will also get it caught up with the same update features as on is on the way for the Xbox version, although PS3’s patch appears to be a little behind other platforms.
Brink has suffered a somewhat rocky launch due to its online lag issues, which has spurred developer Splash Damage to decide to offer the game’s first DLC expansion for free as a show of “appreciation for your support”.
