Paula Malcomson, of Caprica fame, has been cast to play Mrs. Everdeen in the highly anticipated adaptation of The Hunger Games based on the Suzanne Collins’ novel, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film follows the story of Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) as she takes her sister’s place in the dangerous ‘Hunger Games’ meant as entertainment for the Capitol. The Capitol selects two children from each district to fight to the death in a match televised on national television.
Malcomson joins Lawrence, Willow Shields as Prim, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta, and Liam Hemsworth as Gale.
Rumor also says Elizabeth Banks will likely sign on to play Effie Trinket.
The Hunger Games is set to be released on March 23, 2012.
