Boinx Software has released a free iPad app called PhotoBox which let photographers to quickly analysis of their photos on the large iPad screen. PhotoBox provides technical details of exposure, focus, color and composition. There is also a histogram, close-up, gallery and over/under-exposure warnings. But the application currently does not have any correction tool.
It uses the iPad Camera Connection Kit to quickly download and display photographs with or without analysis. The app also supports iPad’s VGA cable to allow the photos to be displayed on even larger screens.
Bonix is delivering the first version free of charge so that they can solicit feedback on additional features needed to turn the program into “your personal on-set digital photography assistant.” As the program receives feedback and matures, Boinx will charge yet to announced price for version 2.0.
The app is available now on the App Store for free and requires iOS 3.2 or later. Version 2, per Bonix, will require iOS 4 or later.
