Portkeys recently released a firmware update for their LH7P, LH7H, PT6, and LH5P II on-camera monitors. The free MOVNORM OS update packs a revamped user interface, additional features, and new camera control options for compatible monitors.
Portkeys listened to their user feedback and went back to the drawing board to revamp the operating system on-camera monitors entirely with the introduction MOVNORM OS.
What Is New
For users of these HDMI monitors, the major change in MOVNORM OS is the new user interface. Now entering the menu means you just touch the screen and the bottom toolbar will pop up. You can configure custom function buttons directly from the main menu in the bottom right corner. In short, the UI now requires fewer gestures!
For Sony Users the MOVNORM OS update has added a memory card status display allowing users to view how much recording time they have left on the camera.
Please note the LH5P II MUST have firmware V3 installed first before updating to the latest firmware.
Portkeys LH7P and LH5P II (V3) camera control capabilities now sport greater efficiency. To access the camera control menu, the only swipe gesture you’ll need to do is swipe up or down to enter or exit that menu. The camera control menu can be accessed via the status bar in the top right corner, as well.

Pricing, Availability, Looking Ahead
The Portkeys MOVNORM OS update is a free update for all customers. You can download the firmware update for your monitor on Portkeys’ website.
Later this year, Portkeys plans to release a firmware update for their monitors with both HDMI and SDI video input/output ports. That firmware update will be called CINENORM OS.
