BBC America original drama series: Intruders is ased on a novel by Michael Marshall Smith, the series will look at an ancient secret society that transfers their essences into the bodies of the recently deceased.
The series stars Life on Mars and Doctor Who actor John Simm, Oscar-winning actress Mira Sorvino, Tron: Legacy‘s James Frain, True Detective‘s Tory Kittles, and Once Upon a Time in Wonderland‘s Millie Brown.
It’s created and executive produced by Glen Morgan of The X-Files, so pretty good pedigree there, and will be directed by The Blair Witch Project‘s Eduardo Sanchez and The Last Exorcism‘s Daniel Stamm. And, just to round out the stellar behind-the-scenes people, the executive producers for BBC Worldwide are Jane Tranter, who was instrumental in bringing Doctor Who back in 2005, and Julie Gardner, who served as producer on Who through the entire Russell T. Davies regime. Yeah, it’s a pretty amazing group.
The premiere date is August 23rd at 10/9c., just around the time Doctor Who returns!
