Coatsink has announced that their hand-drawn platformer, Shu, is launching digitally early next month on PlayStation 4 and PC, and on PS Vita later on in the year. In a not-quite-3D world, you’re on the run from a malevolent and relentless storm as you run, jump, and glide your way up an ancient mountain. Guide Shu over a series of obstacles and help him escape the end of the world.
Shu is beautiful in so many ways that it’s hard to look at it without watching the trailer again and again. Not only is Coatsink’s use of colour and lighting very striking, especially when the terrible storms start rolling in, but the environmental design is vastly interesting, taking on a Rayman Origins-esque mashup of 3D levels and 2D characters.
On the 4th October you can buy Shu on PlayStation 4 and PC for $11.99, with its Vita release happening in Q4 of 2016. However the game does support PlayStation’s cross buy feature, so no worries about double-buying for a handheld platform.
