After the suspense-filled episode of last week, fans of Castle will see the lovers and mystery-solvers Rick Castle and Kate Beckett back to their crime-fighting days. We promised ABC we wouldn’t spoil anything for you, but in our sneak preview we learned Castle and Beckett will be clad in spacesuits to solve the murder of an astronaut. They will discover the astronaut died in a sealed simulation chamber where no one could have entered.
The astronaut was training for a trip to Mars and it seems no one inside the sealed chamber could have committed the murder and no one from outside could enter. Castle and Beckett get the classic locked room mystery with a modern twist, and our heroes have their hands full with lots of astral suspects, a mysterious “alien” presence and a computer that seems to have stepped right out of the movie “2001”.
Add to that the fact that things are starting to get a bit crowded for everyone who calls Casa De Castle home. Meanwhile, the great detective Ryan gets a second job to help himself for college fees. Rumor has it that in the near future viewers are going to see an episode full of Ryan. Showrunner David Amann said in a recent TV Guide interview.
“We have a Ryan-centric episode coming up that’s a dramatic episode. He’s been moonlighting working security and he’s protecting an important person. Something goes horribly awry while he’s doing it, and he gets embroiled in trying to find out what exactly happened,” the showrunner said.
The episode, “The Wrong Stuff,” was written by Terri Miller and directed by Paul Holahan. It airs tonight, Feb. 23 at 10 p.m. on ABC. After that, the show will go on a short hiatus until after the season of “The Bachelor” ends.
