Radio Shack is reportedly allowing customers to reserve LG’s Thrill 4G handset ahead of the official launch, though the retailer does not appear to be promoting pre-orders through any official marketing materials. Several unnamed sources have told Engadget that customers interested in securing the handset must purchase a $50 gift card.
The Thrill will serve as a variant of LG’s Optimus 3D; both devices share a 4.3-inch glasses-free 3D display, 3D video capture in 720p resolution, and two-way video chat. The AT&T edition is expected to arrive with Android 2.2, which is powered by TI’s dual-core OMAP 4430 processor.
Radio Shack is said to be preparing to begin selling the Thrill on August 7.
