Retta has formally tied the knot with Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce.
The forme Parks and Recreation cast member, who joined the Bravo dramedy in Season 2 as Abby’s (Lisa Edelstein) co-worker Barbara, has been promoted from recurring guest star to a full-fledged series regular ahead of Season 3 — and likely beyond; the cabler handed the Marti Noxon-produced series an unheard-of three-season renewal back in April.
“With Marti and Lisa leading our stellar writers and cast, GG2D is a show that captures an important slice of the zeitgeist,” said Jeff Wachtel, NBCUniversal Cable COO, in a statement at the time. “And with this remarkable three season pickup, it will be a show that audiences can discover and enjoy forever.”
Girlfriends‘ wrapped its second season in February with an average 660,000 weekly total viewers and a 0.3 demo rating, down just a tick from its freshman run and ending on a high note, with 765,000 viewers.
