The promise of the iPhone is that your business, your entertainment, your social life, and everything else you need (“there’s an app for that”) is all in one place. The MoGo Talk XD Headset and Case System for the iPhone 4 builds on that promise by making sure that your Bluetooth headset is always with your phone, and not one more thing you have to remember.
The MoGo system provides a Bluetooth headset and iPhone case combination where the headset clips into the bottom of the case seamlessly, ensuring that your headset is always with your phone. The headset can be charged while in the case when the case is plugged via a mini USB connection.
The case is comfortable and sturdy. The slight bulge in back where the headset snaps in is gracefully designed, not impacting the ability to hold the phone, nor making the phone or case feel bulky. Like many iPhone cases, the MoGo does not provide screen protection.
The headset is an ear-bud type with microphone that snaps in place against your face. MoGo provides a number of fittings to find the right size for your ear. Once I took the time to find the right fit, the headset stays securely in my ear. The headset connects easily with the iPhone via Settings | General | Bluetooth, and works with the iPhone’s Voice Control. Sound quality is good for both my speech and for listening to calls.
The headset package claims 72 hours of standby time; my results were less, but well over a day.
The biggest disadvantage of the headset and case system is that I did wish that the case combine the charging of the headset and phone to one connector. While having two free USB connections to your computer is not a problem for most, it is a problem for people who regularly charge their phone via a car socket. (With the current configuration, you would also need a splitter and a USB socket for your car to charge both phone and headset.)
The MoGo Talk XD Headset retails for $99.99* and is is designed for business users whom make heavy use of their Bluetooth headset and want a professional looked to their iPhone. I would also recommend it for those consumers when the price makes up for the cost of a case and buying and losing one or more Bluetooth headsets over the life of their phone.
* Editor Note: ToT first reported the price at $129, which was an error.
Pros:

- Strong value for the money
Cons:
- Still two cord charging for phone + headset
- Would like to see a little long Bluetooth headset battery life
- Would like to see a screen portect included in the kit
Hmmmm, interesting perspective… Thanks for a good post.
