Detailing the previously announced retail version of Rocket League, publisher 505 Games announced today that they’ve partnered with developer Psyonix to bring Rocket League: Collector’s Edition for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to retail stores worldwide in Q3 2016.
The Collector’s Edition will include the three major DLC packs to date – Supersonic Fury, Revenge of the Battle-Cars, Chaos Run – as well as several retail-exclusive bonuses that will be revealed in the future.
A price for the Collector’s Edition wasn’t given today.
Psyonix CEO Dave Hagewood said:
505 Games are a proven entity in taking digital brands like Terraria and PAYDAY, and breaking them out through their long-established retail partnerships and on-the-ground expertise to a whole new consumer-base worldwide.
505 Games President Ian Howe added:
We are honoured and excited to help Psyonix bring Rocket League: Collector’s Edition to a whole new audience. As big as Rocket League has become, both 505 Games and Psyonix believe that there is still a significant untapped segment of the gaming audience who become aware of products through physical retail.
As revealed over the weekend, nearly four million copies of Rocket League have been sold digitally, and the worldwide community is over 12 million players.
Next up for Rocket League is the Batman v Superman Car Pack on March 8, which includes the Batmobile.
