Roku Bring More Internet Media to the TV with Channels

Roku announced today the Roku Channel Store and the first 10 free channels which bring Internet content to your TV.

The new channels now available for customers to add today to their Roku experience via the Roku Channel Store include: Pandora, Facebook Photos, Revision3, Mediafly, TWiT, blip.tv, Flickr, FrameChannel, Motionbox and MobileTribe.

“For years we only had audio podcasts,” Leo Laporte   of TWIT said. “But once I found out that the Roku was supporting the format, I had to be on it. Roku was the impetus that made us want to do TWiT video.”

With Facebook Photos all the photos you love to browse on Facebook.com are now available for viewing on the TV. Included in the channel is the ability to view slide shows of recent photos posted in your news feed as well as your personal photo albums or tagged photos. You can also browse your friend’s photo albums, all from the comfort of your couch.

Another photo experience is with Flickr.   The Flickr channel lets you view photos from your photo stream, your groups and your sets on the big screen TV via the Roku player.

Pandora, the most popular personalized radio service in the World is now available for free on the Roku player. Pandora on Roku is fully integrated with Pandora on the web so listeners can enjoy all of their existing stations -“ and create new ones — right from the player.

MobileTribe has teamed up with Roku to deliver your favorite social networks on your TV. MobileTribe on the Roku player supports Facebook , Myspace, Yahoo!, Orkut, Flickr, Picasa   and Google contacts

Blip.TV, Motionbox and Revision3 all now have channels on the Roku to let you enjoy their video on your TV.

Pricing and Availability

The Roku Channel Store will be delivered as an automatic and free upgrade to all existing Roku customers over the course of the next two weeks. New customers will automatically be upgraded when they first install their Roku player
