Samsung and Ericsson have reached a patent-licensing deal that will put an end to litigation between the two companies.
The deal concerns telecommunications patents that Samsung previously licensed from Ericsson. The original agreement between the two companies ended in 2011, and Ericsson sued Samsung in 2012 after the two failed to come to terms over the value of the patents. The new cross-licensing agreement covers an unknown number of patents, some of which are deemed to be standard essential.
The companies did not disclose terms.
