Samsung Electronics has announced the prices and market availability for its 2009 MP3 player line-up and the launch of the upgraded EmoDio.
The P3 with EmoTure touch interface enables consumers to immerse themselves in personal media while navigating their customized content. The new Q2 flash-memory media player delivers an unbeatable acoustical experience with up to 50 hours of battery life. The new line also includes the stylish and easy-to-use U5 player for on-the-go, active consumers. Unique to the P3 and Q2 is Samsung’s EmoDio multimedia platform that provides flexibility for receiving and editing content, including RSS, voice recording and the ability to turn online text into audio files that can be easily downloaded onto the portable devices.

P3 Widescreen Portable Multimedia Player
Samsung’s P3 is the must-have portable media player for on-the-go audio and performance enthusiasts seeking unlimited freedom and flexibility of customized entertainment features in one device. Boasting an impressive 3-inch WQVGA TFT-LCD touch screen, the P3 allows for enjoyment of video and photos at a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio without letterboxing. Adding a new level of connectivity between the player and its user, the P3 includes Samsung’s EmoTure touch interface with interactive 3-D widgets, and true reactive feedback. As consumers navigate through the menus and play favorite files, the P3 responds with vibrations for every tape, swipe, and press against the screen.
To ensure listeners experience the most natural, full-bodied sound possible, the P3 incorporates Samsung’s updated DNSe 3.0 sound enhancement technology. With DNSe 3.0, Samsung’s proprietary sound-enhancing technology, users can enjoy sound quality that more accurately matches the tone and feel originally intended by the audio producer. Additionally, with the inclusion of a new Music Hot Touch Key located just below the touch screen, and integrated speaker, consumers can instantly access favorite music features and share the great sound with their friends.
With built-in Bluetooth connectivity, the P3 works seamlessly with wireless headphones to become truly un-tethered from the clutter of cables and wires. The P3 can also be paired with a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone, allowing consumers to easily send and receive calls using the P3’s built-in microphone. Rounding out the P3’s diverse resume of features are file transfers via Bluetooth file, FM radio and recording, voice recording, and the ability to act as a portable storage drive.
The P3 also stands out for its forward-looking design craftsmanship. Centered on a reinforced die-cast metal casing, the P3 is available in matte silver and matte black finishes. Both of which are built to combat the fingerprints and scratching, which typically mar today’s portable MP3 devices.
Q2 Multimedia Player
The new Q2 is a flash-memory media player featuring full multimedia functionality, including powerful sound quality unmatched by any other MP3 player. The slim Q2 delivers up to 50 hours of audio playback and seven hours of video enjoyment, lasting through road trips and business trips on a single charge. The Q2 also boasts superior acoustical performance through DNSe 3.0 sound enhancement technology, also available in the P3, Audio Upscaler, 3D Sound and various Concert Hall settings, along with FM radio, FM recorder, voice recorder and text viewer. For customizable access, the Q2 also features a “Smart Button” that allows the user to designate a specific function for quick access.
At a mere 2.04 ounces, the Q2 is equipped with a 2.4 inch QVGA TFT screen and is designed for the practical techie looking for a hassle-free device with smarter control of media playback.
The Q2 is available in black and white.
U5 Sporty MP3 Player
The Samsung U5 is designed for the active consumer seeking a simple-to-use portable music device without compromising style. Its lightweight design, user-friendly touchpad and USB connectivity makes the U5 a perfect companion for consumers always on-the-go and engaged in sports. The U5 also features an FM tuner / FM recorder, so workouts are less monotonous with more music options, as well as a voice recorder.
The U5 is available in a multitude of fashionable colors, including black, white, red, pink and blue.
