Despite all the hubbub surrounding it, the controversial series Who Is America? won’t be returning for a second season on Showtime. Star Sacha Baron Cohen tweeted the news Sunday ahead of the show’s finale. “Tonight, is the last EVER show of “Who is America,” he wrote. On Monday Showtime confirmed that Sunday’s episode was the series finale.
It’s unclear whose decision this was, because Showtime CEO and president David Nevins told reporters at the Television Critics Press Association summer press tour in July that he was “dying to bring [the show] back.”
