Showtime has given a ten-episode order to an untitled half-hour animated series that Stephen Colbert and Chris Licht will executive produce.
Cartoon versions of U.S. President Donald Trump and his family, top associates, heads of government and those within his circle will serve as the characters in the workplace comedy set in the Oval Office and as seen through the eyes of an imaginary documentary crew.
The project is inspired by the animated opening segment of the Emmy-nominated Showtime special Stephen Colbert’s Live Election Night Democracy’s Series Finale.
The plan is for turnaround times on episodes to be fast, thus enabling current events to play a role in the storylines with the first episode to premiere this Fall on Showtime
