Sony Interactive Entertainment opened today the registrations to beta test the next major PS4 system software update, which should be numbered 5.0 if the the usual numbering sequence holds true.
At the moment, there is no info on what the update will actually bring to PS4 and PS4 Pro, but if you want to take a peek, and help testing so that everyone else doesn’t have to suffer through bugs and issues, you can do so here if you’re in North America or here if you’re in Europe.
As usual with this kind of test, you’ll receive a mail if you’re selected (so make sure that you have the option to receive mail from Sony marked in your account, or it’ll be blocked), with instructions on how to download the new system software. In case it proves to be inconvenient, you’ll be able to roll back to the standard system software at any time.
To qualify, you’ll need the usual: having lived over eighteen years, a PS4 with an internet connection, and access to a master account.
