Sony on Sunday revealed it will launch a new PSP Remaster series of games for the PS3. They will first hit the Japanese market on Blu-ray discs and will be redone versions of current games for the handheld. In the changeover, they will get HD graphics and new features, including support for Sixaxis and DualShock controllers.
Also baked in will be support for add-on content and stereoscopic 3D, where applicable. Users will be able to load their PSP save files and continue on with their game on the PS3. An ad-hoc part app for the PS3 will allow ad-hoc gameplay or connecting with another owner of the same game to play against each other or cooperatively. The 20GB PS3 consoles without Wi-Fi will not support this feature, however.
The first PSP Remaster title will be Capcom’s Monster Hunter Portable.
