Android platform developer Splashtop has just released its Splashtop THD app for $6.99 on the Android Market, meant exclusively for NVIDIA Tegra 3-powered tablets such as the ASUS Transformer Prime. The software lets users stream audio or video from their PCs and Macs to the tablet, including using nearly any desktop program, such as graphics-intensive games. This last part purportedly requires an NVIDIA GeForce graphics card in order to play titles like Skyrim in full-screen mode.
The app includes a gamepad on the touchscreen for controlling the game. Video can reportedly peak at 60 frames per second, with frame-rates matched perfectly with the PC at a minimum of lag. Online reports are stating Android 4.0 is needed, though the Android Market description lists Android 3.1 and newer should work.
