Sprint CEO Dan Hesse spoke to a number of journalists at Sprint’s headquarters in Kansas yesterday, and in his talks he mentioned that the carrier will have some news this fall regarding its 4G network plans. Sprint has come under fire recently for the seemingly molasses-like speed at which it has expanded its 4G WiMAX network when compared to the aggressive roll-outs of Verizon Wireless’ LTE and T-Mobile’s HSPA+ networks.
Hesse admitted that things have slowed down lately, and blamed most of it on the financial troubles that Sprint’s partner Clearwire has been facing. Of course, he didn’t mention anything about the supposed LTE plans that Sprint might have with LightSquared
