Stephen King might have been bummed about it upon release, but there’s no denying that Stanley Kubrick’s 1980 avant garde interpretation of King’s supernatural psyche-thriller novel The Shining is one of the scariest movies ever made. Ever. This writer just re-watched it. Trust me. It’s freaking scary.

But to see The Shining on the big screen isn’t just scary, it’s soul smothering. Now, Fathom Events will prove that when they bring The Shining back to cinemas nationwide for a special two-day event this October as part of Fathom Events and Turner Classic Movies’ TCM Big Screen Classics series.

TCM Big Screen Classics: The Shining will screen Sunday, October 23 and Wednesday, October 26 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. local time (both days) and will include exclusive commentary by Turner Classic Movies host Ben Mankiewicz.

Tickets to TCM Big Screen Classics: The Shining can be purchased online from the Fathom Events website.
