Extensis has released Suitcase Fusion 5, an update of its font management tool for OS X and Windows. The software now includes plugins for Adobe’s latest Creative Cloud apps, such as Photoshop CC. Updated panels in the CC plugins allow font activation without switching back to Fusion.
A new feature called QuickComp lets users preview multiple fonts simultaneously in templates for different publication formats, such as books, magazines, or newspapers. Printouts of these templates incorporate exact font details for future reference. For even quicker previews, an option called Font Snapshot produces PNG images of sample sentences.
Other changes include redesigned interface elements, such as a better-organized library panel, and faster QuickMatch font location. Fusion 5 costs $99 new, or $49 as an upgrade
