Mistress AmericaSundance NEXT FEST, from August 7 to 9, will screen six films from the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, with five to be paired with a special music performance or conversation between filmmakers and the luminaries who surround them.

On August 2, NEXT FEST kicks off early with the premiere of “Cop Car,” whose director John Watts just landed the new “Spider-Man” gig at Sony, at the storied Hollywood Forever Cemetery under the stars.

NEXT FEST will also co-host a special screening of Sean Baker’s indie hit “Tangerine,” shot entirely on an iPhone, at the glorious Ace Hotel. Little Boots will then host a special DJ set.

The rest of the lineup includes Noah Baumbach’s “Mistress America” with a performance by strung-out pop chanteuse Sky Ferreira, “Finders Keepers” followed by a Q&A with director Bryan Carberry, Rick Alverson’s wonderfully weird “Entertainment” followed by a performance by beautiful warbling songstress Sharon Van Etten, a screening of “Cronies” with a Q&A with director Michael J. Larnell, and finally a presentation of “Turbo Kid” to be followed by a DJ battle between Neon Indian and Toro Y Moi.
