Accessory maker SwitchEasy has released an updated version of the CARA, one its iPad cases. The upgrade mainly addresses compatibility with the third-generation iPad, while still supporting the iPad 2. It also however uses a new vertical stand system, said to allow landscape viewing at multiple angles.
The CARA uses a thin folio design, employing polycarbonate in both the back shell and the front lid. The lid sports a raised honeycomb pattern with a polished finish; embedded magnets activate an iPad’s sleep/wake functions, and a latch keeps the case shut. The back has openings for the camera, rotation switch, and all ports, but covers the volume and power buttons while still allowing their use.
The CARA is available in red, white, or black colors, and costs $50. Each package includes a screen protector, a microfiber cloth, and plugs for the headphone jack and dock connector.
