T-Mobile’s has provided fuller details of the Galaxy S 4G. Samsung’s upgraded phone is now known to have an Ericsson M5720 chipset that gives it the 21Mbps HSPA+ access behind the new name. The faster speed will supply both video chat through a custom Qik app and HD video streaming through T-Mobile TV that will supply free but limited TV from ABC, Fox and others.

Further preload apps will be updates to what was included with the Vibrant and earlier T-Mobile phones. The new phone include a full copy of the movie Inception as well as the latest version of DoubleTwist’s media app, which can sync media over Wi-Fi to a Mac or PC with a matching desktop app. Slacker Radio is already free but comes pre-installed.

Inside, the phone still uses the same 1GHz Hummingbird processor, five-megapixel camera, 16GB microSDHC card and four-inch Super AMOLED screen as the Vibrant, but it has a large 1,650mAh battery to accommodate the possible extra demand from the HSPA+ access. Android 2.2 also comes preloaded out of the box instead of needing an upgrade.

T-Mobile won’t officially commit to a launch schedule other than to say the Galaxy S 4G will ship sometime this month.
