Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment used the Superbowl to debut the first footage from Minions: The Rise of Gru, the sequel to the 2015 Despicable Me spin-off.
This entry will focus on the Minions during their first encounter with a young Felonious Gru. The Superbowl spot is used as a tease for a first trailer launch which will arrive this week – on February 5th to be precise.
Kyle Balda and Brad Ableson helm the new entr/ There will be a Hugh merchandise push for the film as LEGO will release sets of the Minions in time for the movie, as well as Mattel creating toys tied to the film.
