20th Century Fox has released the first trailer and poster for the adaptation of Alexandra Bracken’s young adult novel The Darkest Minds opening August 3rd.
In the film, teens mysteriously develop powerful new abilities and so are declared a threat by the government and detained. Sixteen-year-old Ruby, one of the most powerful young people anyone has encountered, escapes her camp and joins a group of runaway teens seeking safe haven. They soon wage a resistance, using their collective power to take back control of their future.
Amandla Stenberg, Mandy Moore and Gwendoline Christie co-star in the film which Jennifer Yuh Nelson (Kung Fu Panda) will direct and Shawn Levy (Stranger Things) will produce.
