James DeMonaco, the creator of The Purge franchise, says he has one more film left in him and then it’s over.

DeMonaco penned and directed the first three films and wrote the fourth which served as a prequel. Speaking with EW this week, he says he has one more sequel in mind:

“I have it in my head. I think I’m going to write it. I think it’s a great way to end it all. We want to end it all, I think, in this one, and I’m very excited. When I came up with the idea and pitched it to everybody, they seemed psyched, and I think it will be a really cool ending, how we take this one home.”

The film franchise revolves around a 12-hour period when all crime, including murder, is legal in the United States. The third film ended with anti-Purge senator Charlene Roan (Elizabeth Mitchell) winning the Presidential Election with pro-Purge supporters staging violent uprisings.

The four films have brought in $456.1 million globally and spawned a TV series which recently premiered.
