Oscar winner Emma Thompson has reportedly departed her voiceover role on the upcoming Alessandro Carloni-helmed Skydance Animation movie Luck. She is upset over the firm’s hiring of John Lasseter their new animation division leader.
The story centers around the struggle between the organizations of bad luck and good luck, and Thompson began recording her role as the head of the latter group. As the studio hasn’t officially announced the cast for the film yet, no statement has been made.
The move comes a month after Skydance boss David Ellison hired former Pixar head Lasseter to run Skydance’s animation division. Lasseter stepped down from Pixar last year amid allegations of inappropriate conduct.
