Throwback, an app designed to send users and their friends photos at an estimated time in the future, has expanded to include interoperability for Android devices. Originally launched a year ago by Calli Higgins as part of her Master’s thesis, the app was created as a way to explore nostalgia and its ties to viewing images.
Users sign up with their e-mail, and either take a new photo or select an existing one to send in the future to themselves, another person, or to both. Lastly, a time for sending can be chosen, from times ranging between a month away to five years from the time of sending. Its “Surprise Me” function randomizes when the image will be sent.
Throwback is now available for download through Google Play.
