Toshiba has launched its first foray in Chrome OS notebooks, by showing a Haswell-based Chromebook at CES. Offering a 13.3-inch, 1366×768-resolution display, the Toshiba Chromebook follows the same pattern as other Chromebooks, in offering a 3.3-pound, 0.8-inch thick notebook with relatively low specifications that are adequate enough for light Internet work, along with a fairly cheap price tag.

Using a Haswell Intel Celeron processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of solid state storage, Toshiba boasts that the Chromebook is capable of lasting for up to nine hours on a single battery charge. Two USB 3.0 ports, a full-size HDMI port, memory card reader, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity are also included in the Chrome OS device, along with 100GB of Google Drive cloud storage.
