Toshiba Starts Sale of L9300U Ultra HD Televisions in the US

Toshiba has started selling its range of Ultra HD televisions in the United States. The L9300U range, consisting of a trio of televisions capable of displaying 4K-resolution video, and will be supplying its BDX6400 4K Upscaling Symbio Blu-ray player and SBX5065 300-Watt Sound Strip as free extras to purchasers for a limited time after launch.

Shown off at CES in January of this year, the series is made up of a 58-inch, 65-inch, and 84-inch models, with all featuring gun metal trim and a matching frame stand, writes SlashGear. Offering a 240Hz refresh rate and using the CEVO 4K Quad+Dual Core processor, the range includes ColorMaster calibration, Smart TV functionality including Skype video calling and media sharing to DLNA devices, Wi-Fi and WiDi support, and access to Toshiba Cloud TV services such as a family calendar and a shared photo album.

It will also be shipping with HDMI 1.4 compatibility, with a later free firmware update in December set to upgrade it to HDMI 2.0 to support 4K 60fps content.

The 58-inch model will cost $4,000 at retailers, while the 65-inch and 84-inch versions are priced at $5,500 and $17,000 respectively.
