TVGuide.com announced today that it has launched new social features and functionality for its gadget on iGoogle which leverage OpenSocial. The TVGuide.com gadget, which already boasts more than two million unique users, has added social functionality to allow users to share information about their favorite TV shows and see what shows their friends are watching in a fun, interactive way. TVGuide.com’s social gadget on iGoogle is the first of several new social integrations planned for launch by TVGuide.com in the next few months.

According to VisionCritical research, TVGuide.com’s 19 million monthly unique users are TV enthusiasts and influencers who are using social media to share their passion for TV with others. More than half of TVGuide.com users have Facebook accounts and nearly 20 percent use Twitter. In addition, 95 percent of TVGuide.com users recommend shows to friends, families or co-workers, and three out of four users watch more than nine TV shows per week.
