Sony San Diego caused a bit of a stir earlier this week when they announced that the upcoming PS Vita game ModNation Racers: Road Trip would launch without online multiplayer. They said they don’t want to re-hash old features, we here at ToT think the real reason might have more to do with a tight development schedule.
Game Director Erich Waas took to the comments of the original PS Blog entry to tell fans, “All this said, the development team is looking at online head-to-head in a patch. This wouldn’t be available day-1 of the PlayStation Vita launch but it is indeed something being researched as I type this.”
Then Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Naughty Dog reportedly told Destructoid off-hand to expect “something different” and wait for an official announcement regarding multiplayer. The Japanese version didn’t launch with multiplayer, but we here at TOT hope for support of multiplayer in a DLC update.
