Verizon Wireless announced today that it is bringing its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network to Spokane on June 16. Residents in areas such as Airway Heights, Liberty Lake, Mead, Otis Orchards, Spokane, Spokane Valley and the South Hill with 4G LTE smartphones, laptop modems and hot spots will be able to take advantage of speeds up to 10 times faster than the company’s 3G network.
“We are making the best network even better so that Spokane residents, small businesses and local government can experience the fastest, most advanced wireless network in America,” said Bobby Morrison, Pacific Northwest Region President for Verizon Wireless. “Our 4G LTE network is revolutionizing the way people communicate and we know this connectivity will enable new technologies for many years to come.”
4G LTE users should experience average data rates of 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink. We here at TOt have seen many time much aster speeds in Seattle, Las Vegas and San Francisco.
