VH1 has gone off the rails of “The Osbournes” train. The Viacom-owned network has scrapped plans for a reboot of “The Osbournes,” the MTV show that focused on Ozzy, Sharon, Jack and Kelly Osbourne that ignited the famous family reality TV format.
Sharon Osbourne announced the news of the revamp in November on an episode of “The Talk,” the CBS daytime show she co-hosts. She’d said at the time that the plan was to do six or eight episodes and that the purpose would be to “catch up on our lives and where we are now.” Variety reported then that the biggest problems were sorting out scheduling and availability. (Since that time, daughter Kelly Osbourne departed her gig as co-host of E!’s “Fashion Police, which presumably would have given her more freedom in her schedule).
This news comes less than a week after fellow Viacom-owned network BET announced plans to bring back MTV’s Ashton Kutcher-hosted hidden camera show “Punk’d.”
